🗓️ Itinerary

Day 1: Fes → Cedar Forest (Azrou) → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Desert

• Depart after breakfast in Fes via the Tizi n’Tilghamt pass and Middle Atlas.

• Stop in Ifrane (the “Switzerland of Morocco”), then Azrou’s cedar forest to see Barbary macaques .

• Continue through Midelt and the lush Ziz Valley with its date palm groves and traditional kasbahs of Tafilalet.

• Arrive in Merzouga by late afternoon; enjoy mint tea and check into your riad near the dunes .

Day 2: Merzouga Area → Rissani Market → Camel Trek → Overnight in Berber Tent

• After breakfast, explore the desert by 4×4 guided tour: visit Gnawa-Musician village (Khamlia), Merzouga seasonal lake, and nomadic Berber families for mint tea and insight into local life .

• In the afternoon, ride camels into the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset.

• Overnight under the stars at a desert camp with dinner and western-style facilities

Day 3: Sunrise in Dunes → Visit Rissani → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley

• Early start to watch sunrise over Erg Chebbi and return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga .

• Continue to Rissani’s vibrant souk (a historic caravan trading hub), then drive through Tinghir to Todra Gorges—Morocco’s highest, narrowest gorge .

• Lunch in the canyon followed by a scenic drive through the Dades Valley with its “monkey toes” rock formations.

• Night in a comfortable hotel overlooking Dades Valley .

Day 4: Dades Valley → Kasbah Amridil → Skoura Oasis → Ouarzazate

• After breakfast, drive the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs” with stops for photos, then visit Rose Valley (Kalaat M’Gouna) where rosewater products are sold

• Explore Kasbah Amridil and the Skoura palm groves before arriving in Ouarzazate for overnight stay

Day 5: Ouarzazate → Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah → Tizi n’Tichka Pass → Marrakech

• Early departure for the UNESCO-listed Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah—famous for films like Gladiator and The Mummy .

• Cross the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (~2,260 m), enjoying vistas of High Atlas landscapes and Berber villages.

• Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon and check into your riad within the Medina .
