Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Your Morocco desert adventure begins with pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8:00 AM.

We depart toward the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass with several stops to enjoy panoramic views and photograph traditional Berber villages hidden among the mountains.

Continue south to the impressive Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous attractions. This ancient fortified village has been featured in many international movies, including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Sahara.

Enjoy free time for lunch before continuing to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.”

Visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most beautiful kasbahs and a former residence of the powerful Glaoui family.

Continue through the beautiful Skoura Palm Grove, home to hundreds of thousands of palm trees and surrounded by traditional kasbahs.

Travel through the famous Valley of Roses, known for producing high-quality rose water and hosting the annual Rose Festival every May.

Arrive in the Dades Valley, where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert – Camel Trek & Berber Camp

After breakfast, enjoy a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the Dades Valley, where you can admire the impressive landscapes and numerous kasbahs scattered throughout the valley.

Continue toward the impressive Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s most beautiful natural wonders. The Todra River has carved a dramatic canyon with towering cliffs, making it a popular destination for visitors and rock climbers.

Enjoy a short walk through the gorge and free time for lunch in Tinejdad or Touroug.

In the afternoon, continue toward the magical Merzouga Sahara Desert.

Upon arrival at Erg Chebbi dunes, leave your vehicle behind and begin your camel trek into the desert.

Ride across the golden dunes while enjoying the sunset from the top of a dune before reaching your traditional Berber camp.

Enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner, traditional music, and a magical night beneath the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert Exploration – Nomads – Khamlia Village – Erg Chebbi

Wake up early for a memorable Sahara sunrise from the top of a dune.

After sunrise, return to Merzouga by camel where breakfast will be waiting.

Today is dedicated to exploring the desert region of Erg Chebbi. Discover:

  • The impressive golden dunes of Erg Chebbi
  • The highest dunes of Morocco, reaching over 250 meters
  • Nomadic families and their traditional lifestyle
  • Tissardmin Oasis and fossil areas
  • Scenic viewpoints overlooking the Sahara

Continue to Khamlia Village, a village originally settled by people from Mali, famous for its traditional Gnawa spiritual music.

Enjoy a relaxing Moroccan tea while listening to a local Gnawa music performance.

The afternoon is free to relax, explore the dunes, or enjoy the sunset near your accommodation.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Azrou Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes

After breakfast, we begin our final journey toward Fes.

Drive through the Tafilalet Palm Grove, one of the largest palm plantations in Morocco, stretching for many kilometers.

Continue to the beautiful Ziz Valley, where we stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the valley and the town of Aoufous.

Continue to Midelt, located in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, where you will have free time for lunch.

In the afternoon, travel through the cedar forests near Azrou, where you may see Barbary monkeys living in their natural environment.

Continue to Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its clean streets, European-style architecture, green spaces, and mountain atmosphere.

Arrive in Fes around 6:00 PM.
