Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Zagora Desert – Camel Ride & Berber Camp

Your 2-day Marrakech Zagora Desert Tour begins with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8:00 AM.

We leave Marrakech and travel through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and traditional Berber villages scattered across the valleys.

Continue south to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks.

Explore this ancient fortified village, which has been used as a filming location for many famous movies, including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Sahara.

After visiting Ait Ben Haddou, enjoy free time for lunch before continuing toward Zagora through the beautiful Anti Atlas Mountains.

Along the route, we will make stops to admire the changing landscapes and take memorable photos.

Arrive in the Zagora Desert in the afternoon. Leave your vehicle behind and begin your camel trek through the desert.

Ride approximately one hour by camel while enjoying the peaceful desert scenery and watching the sunset over the dunes.

Day 2: Zagora – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

Wake up early to enjoy a beautiful desert sunrise from the dunes near the camp.

After breakfast, return to Zagora by camel and continue your journey by vehicle.

We travel through the spectacular Draa Valley, famous for its thousands of palm trees, ancient kasbahs, and the Draa River, one of the longest rivers in Morocco.

Enjoy several stops along the way to admire the beautiful scenery and take photos.

Continue through the Anti Atlas Mountains toward Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara.”

Depending on your interests and available time, you can visit:

After lunch in Ouarzazate, continue the return journey to Marrakech.
