Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Telouat Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou – Ounila Valley – Ouarzazate
Your adventure starts with a pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8:30 AM.
We leave Marrakech behind and begin our journey through the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains. Our route takes us across the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, located at 2,260 meters above sea level, the highest mountain pass in Morocco.
Along the way, enjoy incredible mountain scenery, panoramic viewpoints, and traditional Berber villages where we will stop for photos.
Continue along a beautiful mountain road to visit Telouat Kasbah, an impressive historic fortress that was once the residence of the powerful Glaoui family.
After the visit, enjoy free time for lunch before continuing through the spectacular Ounila Valley, famous for its colorful landscapes, small Berber villages, and traditional adobe houses.
In the afternoon, arrive at the legendary Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous landmarks. This ancient fortified village has been featured in many international films, including Gladiator, The Mummy, and Sahara.
After exploring the kasbah, continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara Desert.”

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Merzouga Desert – Camel Ride & Berber Camp
After breakfast, we continue our journey toward the Sahara Desert through the spectacular Draa Valley.
This beautiful valley is home to one of Morocco’s longest rivers and thousands of palm trees. Along the way, enjoy stops to admire ancient kasbahs, traditional Berber villages, and stunning desert landscapes.
After lunch in Nkob or Alnif, we continue toward Merzouga and the impressive Erg Chebbi sand dunes.
Upon arrival, we leave our vehicle behind and begin an unforgettable camel ride into the heart of the Sahara Desert.
Ride across the golden dunes while watching the sunset before reaching your traditional desert camp.
At the camp, enjoy a delicious Moroccan dinner, traditional Berber music, and a magical evening under a sky full of stars.
Dinner and overnight: Berber Desert Camp
Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Rissani Market – Erfoud Fossils – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Wake up early to enjoy a spectacular Sahara sunrise from the top of a dune, one of the most memorable moments of the trip.
After breakfast, return to Merzouga by camel and continue our desert journey.
We leave the Sahara behind and head toward Rissani, a historic town famous for its traditional market. On market days (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday), you can experience the lively atmosphere of local traders.
Continue to Erfoud, where you can visit fossil workshops and discover the region’s famous fossilized marble products.
Our route continues through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad until we reach the impressive Todra Gorges.
The Todra River has created a spectacular canyon surrounded by enormous cliffs, making it one of Morocco’s most beautiful natural attractions.
Enjoy free time for lunch and a short walk through the gorge before continuing to the Dades Valley, also known as the Valley of Figs.
Stop at the famous “Monkey Fingers” rock formations before arriving at your accommodation.
Dinner and overnight: Dades Valley
Day 4: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Skoura Palm Grove – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Dades Valley from a mountain viewpoint. From here, admire the many kasbahs and dramatic landscapes surrounding the valley.
Continue along the famous Road of 1,000 Kasbahs, passing through the beautiful Valley of Roses and the impressive Skoura Palm Grove.
Arrive in Ouarzazate where you will have the opportunity to visit:
- Taourirt Kasbah, the former residence of the Glaoui family
- Cinema studios and the cinema museum (optional visit)
After lunch, begin the return journey to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains.
Enjoy several stops along the way to take photos and admire the changing landscapes, from desert scenery to colorful mountain views.
Arrival in Marrakech around 6:00 PM.
